The Crown Estate Scotland Community Capacity Grants Programme, administered by Foundation Scotland, provides £20,000–£50,000 for early-stage projects that help coastal and rural communities become more sustainable and resilient. Funding can support things such as feasibility studies, business planning, community consultation, new staff posts, training and project development.
Projects must benefit communities located within 5 miles of the Scottish coastline/estuarine foreshore or one of Crown Estate Scotland’s four rural estates.
The fund particularly supports community enterprise, affordable housing, climate resilience, infrastructure, skills, sustainable tourism and regeneration. Importantly, it funds revenue/development costs rather than capital works or equipment.
Current deadline: 25 September 2026, with grants awarded for a one-year period.
