Could you help shape the future of the Northwest Highlands?
NorthWest2045 is seeking a Coordinator to support community-led action across one of Scotland’s most distinctive and ambitious rural partnerships.
This part-time, freelance role offers an exciting opportunity to work with communities, development trusts, landowners, and public-sector partners who are collaborating to create a thriving future for the Northwest Highlands.
About NorthWest2045
Established in 2020, NorthWest2045 brings together a diverse range of organisations from across the Northwest Highlands, stretching from Coigach in the south to Durness and Bettyhill in the north and east.
The partnership was created to address some of the biggest opportunities and challenges facing the region, including population change, economic resilience, housing, employment, and community sustainability.
Following extensive community consultation in 2021, local people helped shape a shared vision for the future based around three key themes:
- A place that is attractive for young people and families to live and work
- A model for a new, diverse, and sustainable rural economy
- A place where our communities can determine their own prospects
Since then, NorthWest2045 partners have worked together to turn that vision into action through collaboration, shared learning and practical projects that benefit communities across the region.
About the Role
As NorthWest2045 Coordinator, you will help maintain momentum across the partnership and support the delivery of priority actions during an important period of development.
Working closely with the NorthWest2045 Steering Group, Assynt Development Trust and the wider partnership network, you will help coordinate collaboration, strengthen communications, support implementation of the emerging Five-Year Delivery Plan and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the initiative.
The role will involve:
- Supporting Steering Group meetings and communications
- Coordinating regular network meetings and follow-up actions
- Supporting the development of the Five-Year Delivery Plan
- Working alongside the developing Pride in Place Programme
- Supporting website, social media and wider communications
- Raising the profile of NorthWest2045 locally and nationally
- Coordinating responses to relevant consultations
- Assisting with fundraising and future sustainability planning
- Supporting financial administration processes
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing people together, managing multiple strands of work and helping community-led projects move from ideas into action.
